Two things about this product that English-language reviews do not mention, and both come straight out of what Koreans type into a search box.
The first: most Koreans do not buy this at Olive Young. They buy the same product at Daiso, the variety store, for much less.
The second: Koreans search how to use it almost as often as they search the product name. That is not normal for a serum, and it tells you what you are actually buying.

Add the Daiso variants: about 3,460 searches a month. That is more than half the volume of the bare term, and more than four times the searches for “vt 리들샷” specifically.
Daiso in Korea is the ₩1,000–5,000 variety store. And here is the part that matters: it is the same Reedle Shot, at a much lower price — and that is where most Koreans buy it.
Not a dupe. Not a lookalike from another brand. The same product, sold through a channel that does not exist in the English-speaking market, at a price that makes the Olive Young shelf look like the tourist option.
So the picture is this. Abroad, Reedle Shot is a mid-priced K-beauty serum you order online. In Korea it is a variety-store pickup, and the search numbers show it: more people look for the Daiso version than look for the brand name.

There are three strengths, and English searches are split across all of them:

The ordering is the same in both markets: 100 is the entry point, 300 is the step up, 700 is the small end of the tail. If a review told you to buy 700 as your first bottle, both markets disagree with that.

Read the second row. In Korea people search the product far more than they search the brand — 6,600 against 720. In English it is the reverse: the brand name is attached to most searches. That is what happens when a product becomes generic at home: Koreans say “리들샷” the way English speakers say “band-aid,” while abroad it is still “the VT thing.”
This is a Korea-first hit that has not fully crossed over yet — the reverse of most products I have written up this week, where the English market is several times larger than the Korean one.
⚠️ A caveat on the numbers: Korea runs most of its searches through Naver rather than Google, so Google’s Korean figures understate domestic interest. I use them for relative comparison inside one market, never as a headcount.
Who this is for
Buy it if: you want the spicule step that Korea has adopted as a category rather than a product, your skin tolerates physical exfoliation, and you are starting on 100 rather than 300 or 700.
Skip it if: your barrier is already struggling, or you are mid-retinoid ramp. This adds an exfoliating mechanism on top.
