Olive Young Put 19 Brands Into Sephora. Here’s How Big They Actually Are in Korea.

Olive Young's K-Beauty Edit landed in 580+ US Sephora stores with 19 brands. Some are genuine Korean bestsellers, some almost nobody here has heard of — here's which is which, and what each line is for.

Every “K-beauty has arrived at Sephora” post I’ve read this week gives you the same thing: the list of 19 brands, copy-pasted, in the order the press release printed them. Nobody says which of those 19 are actually big here.

That’s the part that matters. Because a curated shelf isn’t a ranking — it’s a mix. Olive Young put in some of the most-bought products in the country and, alongside them, some names I’d genuinely have to look up. Both sit on the same fixture in Sephora, at similar price points, under the same sign.

So here’s the Seoul-side version. What launched, who’s genuinely famous here, and what each line is actually for.

What actually launched

Olive Young’s K-Beauty Edit went live in Sephora US on 20 August 2026 — 580-plus doors plus sephora.com. It’s 19 brands, roughly 150 products, weighted toward skincare: serums, creams, suncare, toner pads, cleansers and sheet masks, with one beauty device in the mix.

The full nineteen, as CJ Olive Young listed them:

Rejuran · Ma:nyo (마녀공장) · Menokin (메노킨) · make p:rem · banila co · Bio Heal BOH (바이오힐보) · beplain · Sungboon Editor (성분에디터) · Cell Fusion C · Arencia (아렌시아) · Abib · S.NATURE (에스네이처) · Wellage (웰라쥬) · TORRIDEN · 톰 [KATE: 영문 표기 확인] · 파티온 [KATE: 영문 표기 확인] · 풀리 [KATE: 영문 표기 확인] · 헤브블루 [KATE: 영문 표기 확인] · Whipped (휩드)

Worth noting this isn’t Olive Young opening its own store — it’s a curated bay inside somebody else’s. And it lands the same month Target starts widening its own K-beauty range across 611 US doors from September. Two years ago your options abroad were basically one retailer’s website. Now there are three shelves competing, which is good for you and slightly confusing for everybody.

The brands Koreans really do buy

These four aren’t “trending.” They’re the boring, permanent, restock-it-again fixtures of a Korean bathroom shelf — and I can point at receipts rather than vibes, because Olive Young publishes annual awards built on what actually sold.

TORRIDEN — the one everybody has

At the 2025 Olive Young Awards, Torriden took first place in three separate categories — essence/serum, sheet masks and lip care. The Dive-In serum has now placed in the awards five years running.

That’s not a hype cycle. That’s the product your coworker has, your sister has, and the one sitting in the sample basket at half the clinics in Gangnam. It’s a low-molecular hyaluronic serum: thin, almost water-like, sinks in fast, no finish to speak of.

Who it suits: anyone with that tight, dehydrated (속건조) feeling — skin that’s oily by 2pm but still feels like paper. If you like a serum you can barely feel, this is the one.

Who should skip it: if you want cushion and slip, you’ll find it underwhelming. Wellage below does that job better.

Ma:nyo — the cleansing oil that won’t move

The Pure Cleansing Oil won first place in cleansing at the 2025 Olive Young Awards, and it’s now been number one five years in a row (2021 through 2025), with awards recognition going back to 2019.

Seven years near the top of a category that gets a hundred new launches a year is about as close to permanent as Korean skincare gets. It’s the default first cleanse here.

Who it suits: anyone wearing sunscreen daily — which, if you’re buying Korean skincare at all, should be you.

Bio Heal BOH — quieter abroad, everywhere at home

Bio Heal BOH is an eight-time Olive Young Awards winner, with the Panthecell Repair Cica Cream Mist among its 2025 winners. It’s an LG-owned brand, which is why you see it stacked high in the barrier-repair section rather than tucked into an indie corner.

If you’ve never heard the name, that’s a distribution gap, not a quality signal.

Abib — the toner pad brand

Abib’s Heartleaf Spot Essence Pad took an award in the toner pad category in 2025, roughly ten months after its relaunch. Toner pads are their own aisle here, and Abib is one of the two or three names that own it.

Worth flagging if you already know this brand: Korea and the English-speaking market know Abib for different products. In Korea the top searches under 아마버 are for the heartleaf toner pad. In English the top searches are for the collagen eye patch and the sunscreen stick. Same brand, different hero product — and a pad you wipe on is not the same thing as an under-eye patch.

Who it suits: people who won’t do a seven-step routine. A pad is toner and essence in one wipe.

The middle tier

Real brands with a real following here — just not household names.

  • Wellage — the Real Hyaluronic Blue 100 Ampoule was picked up as a 2025 Olive Young Awards feature product. Where Torriden is thin and fast, this is the cushiony, “my skin is drinking it” texture. Genuinely the better pick if your skin is dry rather than dehydrated.
  • banila co — the Clean It Zero balm is the one most Westerners already know, and it earned that. Older, bigger, more mainstream than the indie names around it.
  • make p:rem — sits in the sensitive-skin and suncare conversation here. Calm, unfussy formulas, minimal fragrance.
  • Cell Fusion C — derm-clinic-adjacent suncare. You see it recommended after procedures more than you see it on beauty TikTok.
  • Rejuran — the interesting one. In Korea the name is attached to clinic injectables first and skincare second, and CJ specifically flagged its PDRN ampoule for this launch. Most Americans meeting the name at Sephora will meet the cream, not the clinic. Those are very different products wearing the same logo. [KATE: 리쥬란 앰플 국내 실구매가 · 매대 위치 확인]
  • beplain — the mung bean cleanser was one of the named launch items. Gentle, low-pH, unremarkable in the good way.

The ones that are new to me too

I’m not going to pretend otherwise. Menokin, Sungboon Editor, Arencia, S.NATURE, Whipped, and the four I’ve left in Korean above — some of these I know by sight from a shelf, some I don’t know at all.

That’s not a knock on the products. Olive Young sells thousands of SKUs, and a curator building an American range is going to reach past the obvious names on purpose. A brand that’s number one here often has no room left to grow abroad, and a brand nobody here talks about might be exactly right for a US shopper.

But if you assumed everything under a Korean retailer’s sign is a Korean bestseller — it isn’t. That’s the honest shape of it.

What this shelf won’t tell you

A few things the sign over the bay doesn’t cover.

It isn’t the Korean shelf, it’s a selection from it. Sizes, sets and shade ranges get adjusted for export. The value tubs and two-for-one bundles that make Olive Young cheap don’t come along.

Awards are sales-and-vote data, not a lab result. They tell you what Koreans bought and rated. They don’t tell you whether something suits your skin. Torriden winning three categories means it works for a very large number of people. You might be in the other group.

Curation isn’t endorsement of every item. A brand being in the Edit means Olive Young thinks it’ll sell in America. That’s a commercial judgment, and a reasonable one — it’s just not the same claim as “this is what Koreans use.”

Prices won’t match. Expect a real gap between the Sephora tag and the Olive Young tag, before you even count the sales that run here most months.

How to pick without a Korean friend

Standing in front of the bay and want a shortcut? Sort by texture and problem, not by brand.

  • Skin feels tight and papery but still gets oily → Torriden, thin and fast
  • Skin feels dry and rough all day → Wellage, cushiony
  • You wear sunscreen daily and break out → Ma:nyo first cleanse, then whatever you already use
  • You want one step instead of three → Abib pads
  • Your barrier’s wrecked from actives → Bio Heal BOH, and stop the actives for two weeks

Start with one. Add a second only after a fortnight. Piling four new products on at once is how you end up blaming the wrong bottle — and honestly, most “this broke me out” stories are really “I changed five things on a Tuesday.”

Where to buy and what it costs here

In the US: Sephora, 580-plus stores and sephora.com, under the K-Beauty Edit sign. Target’s own K-beauty range widens across 611 stores from September, and Ulta’s exit has left that space genuinely contested for the first time.

In Korea: all nineteen are Olive Young brands, so they’re in physical stores nationwide and on Olive Young Global, which ships internationally.

If you’re weighing suncare from this range against what you already own, I went through the texture and filter differences in my guide to how Korean sunscreens are actually formulated. For the wider “what’s genuinely popular here versus what gets exported” question, that’s the Olive Young shelf breakdown.

FAQ

Is the Olive Young K-Beauty Edit at every Sephora?
It launched in more than 580 US Sephora stores plus sephora.com on 20 August 2026. That’s most, not all — check your store’s stock page before travelling for it.

How many brands and products are in it?
Nineteen brands and roughly 150 products, weighted toward skincare: serums, creams, suncare, toner pads, cleansers and sheet masks, plus one beauty device.

Which of the 19 are actually bestsellers in Korea?
Torriden, Ma:nyo, Bio Heal BOH and Abib have the strongest domestic track record — all four placed in the 2025 Olive Young Awards, with Torriden taking three category wins and Ma:nyo’s cleansing oil holding first place in cleansing for a fifth consecutive year.

Is buying at Sephora the same as buying from Olive Young?
The products are authentic either way — this is an official Olive Young curation, not a reseller. What differs is selection, sizing and price. Korean stores carry larger sizes and run frequent promotions that don’t cross over.

Is Rejuran at Sephora the same as the Rejuran done at clinics in Korea?
No. In Korea the name is best known for clinic injectables. What’s on the Sephora shelf is topical skincare, including a PDRN ampoule. Same brand, different category — don’t expect a procedure in a bottle.
