Meet NCT WISH — Members, Positions & Profiles

Want to know all the NCT WISH members? NCT WISH is the newest group under SM Entertainment’s NCT — and the first NCT team based in Tokyo. The six members — Sion, Riku, Yushi, Jaehee, Ryo, and Sakuya — debuted on February 21, 2024 with the single “WISH,” released in both Korean and Japanese. They were formed through the 2023 survival series NCT Universe: LASTART, with a line-up of four Japanese and two Korean members. New to the group? Here’s your friendly who’s-who.

Sion (시온)

Position: Leader, Lead Vocalist
Birth name: Oh Si-on (오시온)

Sion trained at SM for four years before debut and leads the group with a calm, level-headed presence. He sums himself up in one word — “water” — and names EXO’s Kai as his role model. A music lover at heart, he’s into drums and played bass guitar back in middle school.

Riku (리쿠)

The first LASTART contestant to be introduced, Riku anchors the group’s rap line after just a year of training. Off stage he’s full of aegyo (affectionate, playful charm) and lights up whenever he’s praised. Known for his dimples, he goes by the nickname “Kuri” (chestnut) and names NCT’s Mark as his role model.

Yushi (유우시)

With seven years of training — the longest in the group — Yushi is the main dancer and a former member of EDAMAME BEANS. He absolutely loves ramen and quietly puts away a surprising amount — so much that when he’s full, you’ll often catch him patting his little rounded belly. He unwinds with soccer and Nintendo Switch, and looks up to EXO’s Kai.

Jaehee (재희)

Jaehee is the main vocalist, prized for his soaring high notes and falsetto. Nicknamed “Daeng” (puppy), he plays piano, reads in his downtime, and lives by the motto “Nonetheless.” His role models include Kyuhyun, Jinyoung, and NCT’s Jaehyun.

Ryo (료)

Bright and active — one word, “happiness” — Ryo fell for SM after seeing NCT’s Doyoung, and chased the dream from there. He’s best friends with Sakuya, enjoys films and drawing, and counts Doyoung and Haechan as role models.

Sakuya (사쿠야)

Position: Lead Rapper, Sub-Vocalist, Maknae
Birth name: Fujinaga Sakuya (후지나가 사쿠야)

The maknae, Sakuya is a self-described bread devotee — croissants especially — though he can’t handle spicy food at all. Curious and playful, he’s best friends with Ryo and looks up to Destiny Rogers and NCT’s Taeyong.
